Pre-requisite
Coaches must obtain one online course and two in-person courses.
The D Course is a 40 to 45-hour course, held over two weekends with at least a month long developmental period in-between. This course is designed for the experienced coach who has already completed their grassroots level licensing. The focus of this course is to facilitate the improvement of candidates in the Six Tasks of a Coach across all four of U.S. Soccer’s game models (4v4, 7v7, 9v9) with a particular emphasis on Coaching Training Sessions. Candidates that register for this course are expected and required to attend both meetings.
The Blended National D License Course (D Course) is a 40 to 45-hour course that begins with an online experience and two weekend on-field component. The course is designed for the grassroots coach working with youth players U6 to U11 in a participation-driven environment and focuses on all four game models as outlined in the Player Development Initiatives (4v4 / 7v7 / 9v9).
