The Bob Abbott Cup (“The Bob”) is named for US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame inductee, Bob Abbott of Baton Rouge. For more than 30 years, Bob served as a coach, club officer and former LSA President. He embodies the LSA spirit of commitment to the game and to our kids. The Bob Abbott Cup is for all 11U and 12U teams that competed in the LCSL during the season, as well as LSAP Academy teams. As a single weekend tournament, it is designed to be a fun and competitive environment. There are no State Champions crowned at The Bob so the emphasis can be entirely on player and team performance rather than outcomes. Coaches, players and their parents should use this tournament to measure how far these young players have come in their development over the course of the year.
This year, LSA will offer a 11v11 division for our 12U teams. This is all team-based, clubs are not allowed to combine LCSL teams in order to participate in the 11v11 division.
The Bob Abbott will be held on April 10-11, 2027 at Moore Park in Lafayette.
Registration Fee: 11U/12U – $500 (to be paid by the club prior to April 1, 2027)
Registration Deadline: Thursday, March 25, 2027
Roster Freeze: 11U/12U – Monday, March 29, 2027
Upload Deadline (roster only): Wednesday, March 30, 2027
12U teams – Option to play 9v9 (based on league results or 11v11)
Hotel Policy: All teams needing hotels are required to book through CSTT (coming soon).
Mod11 will be utilized for tournament play.
