"In Argentina, I played futsal on the streets & for my club.  It was tremendous fun and it really helped me become who I am today."

Futsal is a modified form of soccer that is played with five players per team on a hard surface such as a basketball court defined by lines. Walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular soccer ball. Futsal was developed in 1930s Uruguay and is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA. It earned the status of FIFA’s official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoor. It is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Maradona, Ronaldo and Messi grew up playing the game and credit Futsal with developing their skills.
