    Location: Coquille Sports Complex, Covington, LA -LA


    The course involves approximately eighteen (18) hours over a weekend (Friday-Sunday) of classroom and field sessions plus pre-course material. It is designed to develop the core coaching competencies necessary to effectively teach the 9-12 year old athlete and team.

    Location: Moore Park, Lafayette, LA -LA


    The highest state license which combines thirty-six (36) hours of classroom and field sessions plus pre-course material. It is designed to develop the core coaching competencies necessary to effectively teach the 13-14 year old athlete and team. The course is split into two (2) weekends (Friday-Sunday) with a minimum of 60 days between each weekend. To receive the "D", one must attend the course in its entirety, complete/pass pre-course material, pass oral & practical exams.

Currently the Louisiana Soccer Association provides our membership with coaching education from three different providers of coaching instruction here in the United States. US Soccer (USSF), US Youth Soccer (USYS) and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). These organizations are known to be at the vanguard of coaching development around the world and are constantly evolving and developing to offer the best, most up-to-date coaching education to enhance the play here in the United States.

The U.S. Soccer Federation Licenses are the officially sanctioned Coaching Courses of the World Governing Body for soccer (football), FIFA, here in the United States.

The U.S. Soccer Federation is committed to providing soccer coaches, from beginner to most advanced, with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge, so coaches across the United States can ensure that players develop to their full potential. The diagram below shows the current U.S. Soccer National License progression.

US Youth Soccer (USYS)

US Youth Soccer's online coaching education platform enhances the experience and opportunities of US Youth Soccer players, coaches and parents. The platform features read-at-your-own-pace pages, video and document downloads. Additional curriculum will be added as the platform expands to further meet the educational needs of all members of the youth soccer community.

US Youth Soccer have developed the Youth Modules Program for U6-U8 and U10-U12 both of which has an online section and an on-field event. Both must be completed in order to fulfill the course requirements.

The NSCAA offers a comprehensive yet focused curriculum inclusive of all levels of the game.

The NSCAA staff coaches approach all participants in NSCAA Coaching Education programs as colleagues with whom we share the coaching journey. Collegiality and mutual, lifelong learning underpin all we do in our coaching education. Our mission is to help our fellow coaches grow and develop in a positive and professional manner in each and every course we teach.

NSCAA Coaching Academy offerings are geared towards enhancing the development of the broadest cross-section possible of our membership. You may enroll in a course geared to the level of player you coach. We celebrate the immense knowledge current and former players bring to the craft of coaching, we embrace coaches new to the game and we honor the wisdom of veteran coaches.
