Valerie is the true veteran in the LSA office. She has been working for the Association since 1999. In her seventeen years at LSA, Valerie has witnessed and been a part of tremendous changes and growth both in the game of soccer in Louisiana and at LSA. She has at one time or other filled every role on the staff at LSA and continues to be a resource, not only for our membership, but also for other staff members and the Executive Committee.
Ben Schoonover is originally from Green Bay, WI and grew up an avid Packers fan. Ben played soccer from the age of five and continues to play in adult leagues. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Business Administration - Marketing. Prior to joining LSA, Ben worked at GMT Marketing of Milwaukee in branding and marketing for the Green Bay Packers, Burgermann's Restaurants and Milwaukee Brewers. Ben joined the LSA staff in March 2018.
Bryan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position of Technical Director. Originally from Delaware, Bryan is a cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College and is currently a candidate for a Master of Science in Management from Wilmington University. He has earned a US Soccer A License and both a Scottish FA and a UEFA A License. He has also earned US Youth Soccer’s National Youth License and his Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches. Bryan has over 5 years of experience as the Technical Director and Academy Director of 2 US Soccer Development Academies. Prior to his time with the DA, Bryan spent 5 years as the Technical Director of Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, a state association that boasts over 90,000 youth players and 12,000 coaches where he has extensive experience as a coaching educator as well as with US Youth Soccer's ODP, both on a state and regional level.
Tucker came to LSA in July 2014 from Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, where he served as Director of Communications and developed corporate sponsorships, the Mass Youth website and all elements of advertising, marketing and social media and helped managed and market Mass Youth’s 16-field complex. Prior to joining Mass Youth, Tucker was an attorney in private practice for nearly thirty years. Tucker also has extensive coaching experience. He was a Region I ODP Senior Staff Coach with experience at national ODP events and international tours and tournaments. Tucker also served as the Head Coach of Women’s Soccer at Framingham State College for 10 years. His 2007 FSU team won the NCAA National Sportsmanship Award. He was a Mass ODP Coach for 16 years and coached extensively at the club and high school levels. Tucker has served as a member of the Louisiana ODP Region III Girls ODP coaching staffs. He holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF “C” License.
