Valerie is the true veteran in the LSA office. She has been working for the Association since 1999. In her seventeen years at LSA, Valerie has witnessed and been a part of tremendous changes and growth both in the game of soccer in Louisiana and at LSA. She has at one time or other filled every role on the staff at LSA and continues to be a resource, not only for our membership, but also for other staff members and the Executive Committee.
Mark has been the Technical Director for the Louisiana Soccer Association since 2008 although he was no stranger to the LSA. He has been an LSA Olympic Development Program coach since 1995 and coaching course instructor since 2002. He is a National Coaching Instructor for US Soccer, US Youth Soccer and NSCAA coaching education programs. Prior to joining the LSA, Mark was the Director of Coaching and Player Development at the Crossroads Soccer Association in Alexandria, LA and the Director of Coaching for Soccer Academy, Inc. in Northern Virginia. At Soccer Academy Mark worked with Jill Ellis, the current US Women’s National Team Coach. Mark studied Sports Management and Administration at St. John’s College, England. He holds a National ‘A’ License, National ‘Youth’ License, FA Coaching License as well as NSCAA Coaching qualifications.

Jeff Schoonover is originally from Green Bay, WI and grew up an avid Packers fan. Jeff played soccer from the age of five and continues to play in adult leagues. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. Prior to joining LSA, Jeff worked at the Houston Dynamo and with the National Women’s Soccer League in Chicago. Both positions were in Operations. Jeff joined the LSA staff in November 2013.
Tucker came to LSA in July 2014 from Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, where he served as Director of Communications. At Mass Youth, Tucker formulated corporate sponsorships, developed the website and all elements of advertising, marketing and social media and assisted in management of Mass Youth’s field complex and each of its numerous events, tournaments and programs. Prior to joining Mass Youth Soccer, Tucker was an attorney in private practice for nearly thirty years. Tucker also has an extensive coaching history. He was a Region I ODP Senior Staff Coach with experience at national ODP events and international tours and tournaments. Tucker also served as the Head Coach of Women’s Soccer at Framingham State College for 10 years. He was a Mass ODP Coach for 16 years and coached extensively at the club and high school levels. In 2015 Tucker served as the Head Coach of the LSA 2003 Girls ODP team and on the Region III Girls ODP Staff. He holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF “C” License.
