GOALKEEPING
The NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeping Diplomas are set for February 4 and 5, 2012 in Gonzales. These two courses are for all levels of coaches, the first specifically addresses the team coach helping them understand the goalkeeping function and help with practice methods.
The second course focuses on creating an optimal learning environment for the goalkeeping and team coach. The Regional Course requires the State Course as a prerequiste but both may be taken consecutively during the weekend. These courses are open to all coaches.
YOUTH AND JUNIOR LEVEL
On February 11, 2012 The Youth Level II Diploma will be offered. This course is direct to those newly involved in coaching soccer, focusing on coaching players from 5 to 10 years old. Curriculum addresses organization of practice, use of small sided games, basic understanding of the Laws of the Game as wells as care and prevention of injuries.
The Junior Level V Diploma will begin after the Youth Level Diploma on Saturday, February 11 and continue on Sunday, February 12. The focus of this course is coaching players 11 - 13 years of age, learning to work with the developing player within both an individual and team concept.
